TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz reached an agreement to keep scoring ace Zoran Dragic for the coming season, the club announced Wednesday. Dragic (1.96 meters, 31 years old) arrived at Baskonia in January 2020 from German club ratiopharm Ulm and averaged 7.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 11 games in the Spanish League as well as 7.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in five Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season. Dragic had three games in double figures scoring in the season-ending Spanish League tournament including 21 points in the semifinals against Valencia Basket in helping Baskonia win the 2020 Spanish League crown.
Dragic also collected 14.1 points in seven 7DAYS EuroCup games last season with Ulm, where he was leading the German League in scoring before his departure for Baskonia. Dragic started his career with Slovan and also played for Novo Mesto in his native Slovenia. He moved to Unicaja Malaga and played two seasons there before spending one campaign between Phoenix and Miami of the NBA as well as Sioux Falls of the G-League. Dragic has also played for Khimki Moscow Region, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Anadolu Efes Istanbul in the EuroLeague. All told, he has played 110 EuroLeague games and averaged 8.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
