Dynamic point guard Pierre Jackson is the newest backcourt addition for Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, the club announced on Sunday. Jackson (1.80 meters, 28 years old) brings solid Turkish Airlines EuroLeague experience, having averaged 14.5 points for Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv in the 2017-18 season, ranking seventh among all league scorers that season. After Tel Aviv, Jackson played in China for Beijing and Shenzhen before leading the Chinese Basketball Association in scoring last season. Jackson started his pro career with Idaho of the NBA's G League in 2013 and the next year made his EuroLeague debut with Fenerbahce Istanbul as a late-season pickup who averaged 3.3 points in limited playing time during last six of the last seven games of the 2013-14 Top 16. Jackson returned to Europe in 2016, playing briefly but spectacularly for Cedevita Zagreb in the 7DAYS EuroCup, where he scored 67 points in two games of the 2016-17 regular season, for an average of 33.5, leaving after their one-month contract was completed to soon make his NBA debut with Dallas, where he played eight games of the 2016-17 season. Jackson would spend much of the same season with the club's G League affiliate, Texas, before he joined Maccabi for his breakout 2017-18 season.
