Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv bolstered its frontcourt by signing big man Ante Zizic to a two-year deal, the club announced Tuesday. Zizic (2.10 meters, 23 years old) arrives from Cleveland of the NBA, where he averaged 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds in 22 NBA games last season, the last of his three seasons there. Zizic returns to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague after playing for Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul in 2016-17. He averaged 9.0 points on 64.9% two-point shooting and 6.7 rebounds over 20 games in helping Darussafaka reach the playoffs that season. Zizic was the runner-up to Luka Doncic of Real Madrid in the EuroLeague Rising Star voting that season. He started his career in his native Croatia, where Zizic played for Split, Ribola Kastela and Cibona Zagreb before joining Darussafaka. His older brother, Andrija Zizic, won the EuroLeague in 2014 with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
