Anadolu Efes Istanbul is officially getting ready to pick up where it left off as the Turkish club on Monday started its pre-season training for the 2020-21 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season. The last time Efes took the court in the EuroLeague it had beaten Olympiacos Piraeus to claim a 24-4 record and first place in the standings before the 2019-20 season was halted due to COVID-19. Head coach Ergin Ataman's team was hoping to get a chance to return to the EuroLeague Championship Game as it did in 2019, when it lost to CSKA Moscow. Ataman and co. now shift their focus to the 2020-21 campaign. The team does not have many new faces to incorporate into the group as Efes brings back nearly its entire squad. Shane Larkin is back and Vasilije Micic also returns as two of the key stars of the team. Efes will open its EuroLeague season on October 1 at home against Zenit St Petersburg.
