Maccabi welcomes back former talent Alber

Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv welcomed home a player from its youth ranks by bringing back Eidan Alber on a one-year contract, the club announced Thursday. Alber (1.94 meters, 20 years old) arrives from Ironi Ness Ziona where he averaged 2.4 points and 0.8 rebounds in 25 Israeli League games. Alber grew up in the Maccabi system and played for the club in the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament during the 2016-17 season. Alber moved to Hapoel Kfar Saba in 2018 and played one season there before joining Ness Ziona. He also has played for Israeli's youth national teams and helped the country win the FIBA U20 European Championship 2019. Alber will be making his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut.

"He is already a part of the Maccabi family because he has been in this club since he was 5 years old. I'm happy that we signed him. He is a Maccabi project player who came back and will have his chances to help the team and be a part of our successful program," Maccabi coach Giannis Sfairopoulos told the club's website. "I am happy to return home to the club I started playing at from the age of 5 and that for years I would come to games with the family with a season ticket at Gate 3", Alber added. "It's a dream come true. I'm ready for the challenge, looking forward to getting on the court and playing for the club and the fans".
