You could argue that no recent player has thrown down more poster dunks than Jan Vesely, which makes it totally appropriate that fans rewarded one of his best as the Round 10 winner in the Fans Choice Play of the Decade.
Vesely's soaring slam occurred in the middle of one of the great rivalries of the second half of last decade, as his Fenerbahce Istanbul team visited CSKA Moscow in Round 8 of the 2017-18 regular season. The last two EuroLeague champions at the time took their first game that season into overtime, and it was Vesely who stood tallest as Fenerbahce pulled off a 93-95 road win that remains a classic. He set the tone early by taking a pass from Brad Wanamaker and lifting off from the top of the lane, ball held high over everyone in his extended right hand, to hammer a dunk that CSKA's Othello Hunter tried hard to stop, but could not. That was the theme of what would be Vesely's highest-scoring of his 223 EuroLeague games to date. He finished the night having made 14 of 19 two-pointers -- a Fenerbahce club record and the third-highest total in EuroLeague history -- while scoring 31 points total, five more than his next best in the competition. That he also had a poster dunk that fans still cherish makes that a true game to remember for him!
Vesely's is the 10th and final play to advance to finals, which start now. He will be going against nine other great plays, with so vote now to make sure your voice is heard at the finish of the Fans Choice Play of the Decade survey!
