Panathinaikos OPAP Athens fortified its backcourt with the signing of point guard Keifer Sykes, who made his EuroLeague debut last season with AX Armani Exchange Milan. The contract is for one month. Sykes (1.83 meters, 26 years old) averaged 7.3 points and 2.0 assists over 12 games as a part-time starter for Milan after joining the club midway through the season. He started the current season with Turk Telekom Ankara, which he played for last week at the Basketball Champions League Final Eight.
Sykes began his professional career with Austin of the D-League in 2015. He has since played for Anyang Korea Ginseng Corporation of Korea, Ankara DSI of Turkey, Avellino of Italy and Guangzhou Loong Lions of China. Sykes also played four seasons at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
