Zalgiris loses starting guard Vasturia

Zalgiris Kaunas announced on Tuesday that starting guard Steve Vasturia will be sidelined for at least two months with a knee injury. Vasturia, 25, was hurt in his team's Lithuanian League victory over Rytas Vilnius last weekend. He has been diagnosed with a partial tear of his knee ligament.

"The severity of the injury will be clear next week, once the swelling reduces", the club announced in a statement. "After that, it will be decided whether the 25-year-old will need surgery."

Vasturia has started in each of the 12 games Zalgiris played this season, averaging 3.5 points on 43.8% three-point shooting, along with 1.3 rebounds in 15 minutes on the floor. Zalgiris, which visits Panathinaikos OPAP Athens on Friday, has a 5-7 record this season.
