Panathinaikos signs Mantzoukas until 2025

One of the most promising players in European basketball switched powerhouses on Friday, when Panathinaikos OPAP Athens announced the arrival of versatile forward Lefteris Mantzoukas, who signed a five-year deal with his new team. Mantzoukas (2.07 meters, 17 years old) arrives from Promitheas Patras, where he averaged 6.7 points on excellent shooting percentages (66.7% 2FG, 60.0% 3FG) and 2.0 rebounds in seven 7DAYS EuroCup games this season. He showed his full potential in a game against Herbalife Gran Canaria, hitting 6-of-6 three-pointers on his way to 24 points. Mantzoukas joined Promitheas in 2017 and made his EuroCup debut in the 2019-20 campaign. He also shined in the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Munich, averaging 32.0 points, 12.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.5 steals and a PIR of 38.3 in four games with U18 Promitheas Patras. Mantzoukas has also been a member of the U16 and U18 Greek national teams, and is set to make his EuroLeague debut with Panathinaikos.
