Real Madrid announced after its home win on Thursday that veteran guard Sergio Llull has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee earlier in the day and will be sidelined while he recuperates. Llull, a two-time champion, EuroLeague All-Decade and former MVP of the competition, missed his sixth game of the season as Real defeated visiting Zalgiris Kaunas 70-58. He has been averaging 8.7 points and 29 assists over 20 games. Real said in its announcement that Llull rehabilitation process will commence in a few days. The right knee is the same one whose injury that caused Llull to miss eight months in 2017 and 2018 before he returned to take part in Real's run to that season's Turkish Airlines EuroLeague title.
