Day by day, more and more Turkish Airlines EuroLeague teams are starting their training camps across the continent.
Zalgiris Kaunas and FC Barcelona each had their first practice of the season on Wednesday night. In Kaunas, head coach Martin Schiller gave an introduction speech in the home team locker room as the team is using the comfort of its state-of-the-art Zalgirio Arena for both workouts as well as basketball practices.
Following couple of days of intense medical tests, Barcelona also opened training camp on Wednesday at Palau Blaugrana. Coach Sarunas Jasikevicius' team is set to have two preseason games before the end of August, including the one against MoraBanc Andorra this coming Thursday.
Newcomer AS Monaco gathered at home to officially start preparations for their historic season, then travelled to Bormio, Italy, where their newest signing Donatas Motiejunas joined them already on Thursday.
Also on Thursday, Olympiacos Piraeus hit the floor of its Peace and Friendship Stadium. The Reds have been gathering in the past few days to get their medicals done, before starting to combine conditioning and basketball practices.
The latest team to open its training camp is CSKA Moscow. Will Clyburn, Daniel Hackett, Nikola Milutinov, Toko Shengelia and co. welcomed scoring machine Alexey Shved to the squad at the Basket Hall in the Moscow district of Krylatskoye. Already on the schedule of the perennial title contenders for this weekend is some five-on-zero and contact basketball with two practices a day.
