The champs from Efes meet the media, too!

A team full of reigning Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champions took some well-deserved star turns in front of the cameras on Tuesday as Anadolu Efes Istanbul opened the door to a new season by holding its traditional Media Day for local and international media alike.

Vasilije Micic, the full-season EuroLeague and Final Four MVP on Efes's run to the title last season, was first up to the microphones and the photo sessions. He was followed by a parade of his teammates, almost all of them still basking in the glow of their status as champions of Europe.

Micic's backcourt co-star, Shane Larkin, was in high demand by media and sponsors, as was head coach Ergin Ataman, whose standing as the first Turkish coach to reign over the EuroLeague speaks for itself in terms of prestige in the eyes of the media and fans.

To a man, the Efes stars were in heartfelt agreement that besides defending the continental trophy, their biggest hope for this season is to see those fans back in the arenas as soon as possible to create that one-of-a-kind EuroLeague atmosphere on game nights.

Those fans won't have to wait long to see the champs in action against a pair of EuroLeague powerhouses, with Efes visiting Real Madrid in Round 1 of the regular season on September 30 and then playing its home opener against none other than CSKA Moscow on October 8!
