Fenerbahce makes Muhammed its Development Coach and Ambassador

Just a few days after announcing the end of its playing contract with Ali Muhammed, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul has also announced a new kind of collaboration with one of the biggest fan favorites ever at the Turkish club. On Thursday, Fenerbahce revealed that Muhammed will become the new Senior Team Development Coach and Youth Team Ambassador for the club, prolonging a relationship that helped lead to Fenerbahce's winning the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague title in 2017.

Muhammed, 38, was something of a talisman for Fenerbahce, playing six seasons of which the first four resulted in trips to the Final Four, culminating in the club lifting its first continental trophy. He finished his EuroLeague careeer having averaged 8.9 points and 2.4 assists in 166 games. He is one of just 10 players to have made 300 or more three-point shots at a rate of 40.0% or better in their EuroLeague careers.

Among the his roles in the club, Muhammed will provide Fenerbahce players with his wealth of experience, both on and off the court, as a personal development coach. Also, he will take part in the development of younger players in the Fenerbahce College Safiport club. Muhammed will be at the Round 4 EuroLeague game against UNICS on Thursday to be announced officially in his new position at the club.
