Banca Tercas Teramo comes off the most impressive season in club history and is ready to make its debut in European competition. Founded in 1973 as Associazione Italiana Cultura e Sport, Teramo started to make some noise in regional and local competitions throughout the 1980s. The club reached the Italian third division in 1992 and started to go for higher goals, consolidating its status before gaining promotion to the second division in 1996. With Carlo Antonetti as the team's head coach, the club improved its structure and hosted the Italian Cup final eight in 2002. The club completed its incredible run to the Italian elite on June 4, 2003, downing Sicilia Messina in a make-or-break playoffs series. Teramo had to fight to keep its name in the Italian first division and managed to do so for four consecutive seasons, ranking between 10th and 12th. Teramo took a major step forwards last season with players like David Moss, Giuseppe Poeta and Jaycee Carroll, as well as head coach Andrea Capobianco. Teramo ranked third in the Italian League regular season and made it to the Italian Cup semifinals and the Italian League playoffs for the first time in club history. There is no time like present for Teramo, which hopes to keep its momentum going by starting the season with a trip to the Eurocup regular season.
