Nanterre beats Reyer in first-ever ANGT game

U18 Nanterre 92 celebrated its first Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament victory in his first game as it defeated U18 Umana Reyer Venice 77-50 to open the ANGT Kaunas. Victor Wembanyama collected 18 points, 16 rebounds, 6 steals and 6 blocks to lead Nanterre to the Group A triumph while Marc-Antoine Loemba scored 12 points and Mateo Donnadieu picked up 10 points. Nicola Berdini paced Reyer with 22 points while Davide Casarin tallied 10 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.

Loemba nailed a three-pointer for the first points of this season’s ANGT Kaunas. Wembanyama followed with a three-pointer en route to the next 9 points for Nanterre, which led 12-2. Berdini and Leonardo Biancotto both nailed long balls as Reyer trimmed the deficit to 16-10. Wembanyama added another trey and Nanterre was up 25-15 after 10 minutes. Berdini picked up 5 more points as Reyer pulled within 27-20 and the score was 33-24 when Mateo Donnadieu nailed 2 three-pointers in scoring 8 points in a 10-0 run to put Nanterre up 43-24. And the score was 43-25 at the break. Loemba picked up another triple as the lead grew to 21 points at 48-27, and Wembanyama tallied four points in a 10-2 surge for a 58-35 cushion, which was 58-36 after 30 minutes. The game was already decided but Nanterre went on an 8-2 spurt to make it 69-42. Berdini did knock down back-to-back three-balls to make the final result look a little bit better.
