U18 Umana Reyer Venice came back from 12 points down in the fourth quarter to beat U18 Spars Ziraat Bank Sarajevo 65-63 with a three-pointer at the buzzer and will play for fifth place at the Euroleague Basketball ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Belgrade. Federico Miaschi collected 35 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for a performance index rating of 44 for Venice. But it was Pietro Ugolini who nailed the game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer for Venice’s first win of the tournament to finish Group A at 1-2. Spars finished the group winless at 0-3 despite double-doubles from both Kenan Kamenjas (19 points, 17 rebounds and 3 assists) and Tarik Biberovic (13 points and 11 rebounds) as well as 15 points from Semir Karic.

Biberovic picked up 5 early points and Spars was up 4-7. Miaschi hit 4 points at the other end in putting Venice ahead 10-7. But Biberovic and Karic both connected from long range and Spars was leading 12-17 - with the score 14-17 after 10 minutes. Another Biberovic three-pointer increased the advantage to double digits 14-24. Venice finally scored after nearly 5 minutes with Tommaso Bobbo starting a 12-3 surge to pull within 26-31. Spars though was in front 26-31 at intermission.

Leonardo Battistuzzi cut the deficit to 28-31 to start the second half but Spars reeled off the next 8 points for a 28-39 lead. Venice was able to pull within 35-41 but Kamenjas scored two baskets to make it 35-47 after 30 minutes. Venice started the fourth quarter well with three-balls from Miaschi and Edoardo Battiston to close to 42-48. And another three-pointer from Miaschi cut it to 54-57 with 2 minutes left. Spars pushed the lead back to 7 points with a minute left but Miaschi drained two three-pointers within five seconds after a Spars turnover and it was 62-63 with 42 seconds to play. Biberovic missed a three-pointer with 28 seconds left and then with the game clock winding down, Miaschi could not get a shot off and passed to Ugolini, who got the shot off just before the buzzer and sent the team into celebrations after it went in.
