Union Olimpija Ljubljana survived losing a 5-point lead with 9 seconds left in regulation before beating Paris Levallois 74-66 in overtime in Group C. Ljubljana scored the first 9 points of overtime to secure its third straight home win and improve to 3-2. Deividas Gailius led the way for Olimpija with 21 points while Sasu Salin and Alen Omic both scored 15 points, and Cedric Jackson collected 5 points, 8 rebounds, 12 assists and 2 steals. After winning its previous game, Paris dropped to 1-4 in the group despite Maleye Ndoye scoring 16 points. Jawad Williams and Elton Brown both had 12 points and Daniel Ewing added 11 points.

Aloysius Anagonye scored to pull Paris within 7-6 before Gailius gave Ljubljana the lead 12-6. A Salin triple increased the cushion to 17-8 and Alex Stepheson’s basket made it 22-12 after one quarter. Brown opened the second quarter with eight straight points and Landing Sane’s free throws knotted the game at 24-24. Jaka Brodnik scored his second basket of the period to make it 26-24 only to see Sane nail a triple and Ndoye and Ewing both convert three-point plays to open a 26-33 advantage. The Levallois lead was 28-35 at intermission with Olimpija having scored just six points in the second quarter. Jackson drained a trey early in the third quarter to make it 36-39 but Ndoye hit right back with a long ball. Drobnik however also hit from long range and then Omic converted a three-point play and Salin was on target from downtown in helping the hosts open a 48-44 lead. And the gap was 50-46 after three quarters. Williams scored the first five points of the fourth to give Paris a 50-51 lead but Gailius answered with the next seven points. Another Gailius triple made it 60-54 and the advantage was 62-56 with 26 seconds left after Jackson’s free throw. After Ewing made two foul shots, Salin split two free throws for a 63-58 lead with nine seconds left. Ewing knocked down two free throws with eight seconds left and then Ndoye drained a triple at the buzzer after Paris got the ball back, sending the game to overtime tied at 63-63. Levallois was unable to continue the momentum and totally fell apart offensively in the extra session, committing three turnovers, missing two three-pointers, three two-point shots and two free throws as well. In the mean time, Salin drained a triple and Omic scored a three-point play in a 9-0 Ljubljana run to start the overtime and build a 72-63 lead before Ndoye’s three-pointer with less than a minute to play.

Union Olimpija Ljubljana
"We could have won this game already in regulation time, but due to our stupid mistakes we played overtime. We know exactly how to play in crunch time, but this time we played out of our system. On the other hand, I am happy that we played our best five minutes of this game in overtime. My players showed that they have the guts to win after such a shocking regulation time ending. We deserved this victory."
BEUGNOT, GREGOR
Paris Levallois
"Both game did not play consistant today. It would be important for my team to focus on ourselves more than we did on other team. We did not play like we agreed before. I believe we can be a good team, but we still make too many mistakes."
