Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar bested Stelmet Zielona Gora 78-68 to remain undefeated in Group F. The hosts can clinch a spot in the Last 32 with a victory next week or a Buducnost loss. Winless Zielona Gora made it tough. The visitors led 50-54 midway through the third quarter, but Lokomotiv took over with an 18-2 charge. Despite the best efforts of Adam Hrycaniuk down the stretch, Zielona Gora never got closer than 7 the rest of the way. Derrick Brown paced Lokomotiv with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Eugeny Voronov scored 16, Malcolm Delaney added 15 points and 5 assists and Anthony Randolph and Maxim Grigoryev finished with 10 points apiece. Hrycaniuk led Zielona Gora with 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting and Przemyslaw Zamojski scored 14 in defeat.

Zamojski connected from behind the arc as Zielona Gora grabbed an early 4-8 lead. Grigoryev heated up to close the gap before a Randolph triple evened things at 12-12. Quinton Hosley put Zielona Gora back on top. A Nikita Balashov slam brought Lokomotiv within 16-17 after 10 minutes. Voronov put Lokomotiv ahead with a basket-plus-foul. Then Daniel Johnson tied it and Chevt Troutman’s three-point play made it 19-22. Delaney countered with a three as the teams remained deadlocked. The game was tied again at 24, 27, 28 and 30. Brown edged Lokomotiv in front 34-30, but after a Zamojski three, Grigoryev split free throws to even the score at 35-35. Threes by Aaron Cel and Zamojski sent the visitors ahead once more and Troutman made it 39-45 at halftime.

The teams traded baskets in the first minutes of the second half; Hrycaniuk made it 46-51 and a Zamojski triple gave the visitors a 50-54 lead. Voronov answered with a three to spark a game-breaking 15-2 charge. Alexey Zhukanenko scored the next 5 points as Lokomotiv took the lead for good. Steve Burtt Jr. scored for Zielona Gora, but it was no more than a drop in the bucket as Delaney pushed the hosts to a 65-56 lead at the end of the quarter. Zhukanenko’s free throw put Lokomotiv up 12 early in the fourth quarter. Hrycaniuk battled back for Zielona Gora and Hosley free throws made it 71-64, but Brown and Grigoryev kept the hosts in control. Delaney connected from downtown to restore a double-digit margin in the end, 78-68.
