Aleksa Matic scored 13 points to pace six players in double figures as Mega picked up its third win in Group B to grab first place and get a chance at dethroning six-time reigning ANGT Belgrade champ Zvezda on Sunday. Danilo Matovic chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists for Mega. GBA got 13 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals from Marek Welsch, but they were not enough as the ANGT debutant dropped to 1-2.

Altin Islamovic and Jovan Virijevic both knocked down three-pointers as Mega used a 10-0 surge to lead 12-2 early on. A three-ball from Krystof Kulcak had GBA to within 15-9 but GBA’s Yoro Sidibe was hit with his third foul of the first quarter. Islamovic and Virijevic both drained another long ball as Mega finished the quarter on a 13-0 run to lead 28-9. Kulcak and Marek Welsch were both on target from long range as GBA fought to climb back into the game, trailing 34-20. Islamovic however hit another three-pointer as Mega was back up 41-20. Maros Zeliznak scored five points for GBA but Danilo Matovic came off the Mega bench and hit five points of his own and the Belgrade side led 52-29 at the break. Mega did not let up in the second half with the first six points to make it 58-29. GBA refused to give up and went on a 2-15 run as Zeliznak and Kulcak both scored four points in getting the deficit to 62-44. It was 64-44 after 30 minutes. GBA continued its run in the fourth with a 1-6 spurt to make it 65-50 with 8 minutes left. But Aleksa Matic nailed a three-ball and another basket to push the cushion out to 70-50. Welsch did make another trey but GBA could not get closer than 15 points the rest of the way.
