HERBERT, GORDON
Alba Berlin
"Congratulations to Kuban for their important win. For the most part we fought and battled hard today. But we had two or three black moments – at the end of the first quarter and in the second half – that really hurt us. Obviously we missed our two centers Idbihi and Francis and Dashaun Wood was not at his full strength, but we never gave up and fought till the end. That’s the positive side."
MALJKOVIC, BOZIDAR
Lokomotiv Kuban
"It was an important win for us. We lost a recent game with crazy things happening at the end. So we were afraid the same things would happen again today. We had a bad start on defense that allowed Alba to run many fast breaks where they are excellent with players like Wood. We changed to zone, which basically worked well. Only Simonovic made too many threes. In the second half we changed to man-to-man again and started to control their fast breaks and offensive rebounds. We took control of the game, but made some mistakes again in the end. It’s always a pleasure to play in Berlin. I have been here many times and it’s a great basketball city."
