ASVEL wins to keep Zenit waiting on Top 16

LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne finished the regular season with a strong short-handed road victory by winning 81-84 in overtime at Zenit St Petersburg, which now must hope for other results to reach the Top 16. "In the second half and overtime, the guys played a lot better: more effort, more energy. I am especially talking about the young guys who haven't played at this level. In the second half, we really deserved to win the game. We played without any pressure. It was all on their side. You saw they missed some free throws, some open shots. We played without any pressure. Psychologically, it was an advantage on our side, and we used it."

"It was teamwork. We played good defensively. We ran the floor. We shared the ball a lot. We played with a young team. Everybody was hurt. We played good. And that’s it. (In the Top 16) We want to win. It’s another level. Every team is great. We need to keep this rhythm. We have a good team this year."
