KK Zagreb CO smashed host Stella Azzurra 88-61 on Wednesday night to win Group B of the Citto di Roma Tournament in Rome, Italy, and claim the ticket to the title game. In the fight for the gold medal, Zagreb will meet Fenerbache Ulker, which won the parallel group with the same 3-0 record. Stella finished Group B with a 2-1 record and will take on Virtus Siena in the battle for third place. Dominik Mavra poured in 32 points and dished 4 assists to lead the winners, while Dario Saric tallied 20 points and 10 rebounds. Mirco Turel led Stella with 28 points and 10 boards. Zagreb used 10 points already in the first quarter by Mavra to take a 21-9 lead after seven minutes, and finished the first quarter with a 24-16 lead. Mavra continued to collect points and once Saric stepped in with great plays Zagreb climbed to a 45-20 lead close to the end of the first half. Stella didn't find the tools to create a comeback in the second half as the gap remained stable around the 20 point line for the entire second half as Zagreb marched into another win and another spot in the final of a NIJT tournament.
