Peristeri gained its second victory in the EUROLEAGUE with an easy victory over Lugano, the Swiss Champion, thanks mostly to a strong start in the 3rd quarter with a run of 16 - 0 in only 6 minutes. 10 of these 16 points were scored by Alfonso Ford, Peristeri's excellent point guard who missed only two shots from the field (5/5 field goals, 1/3 three-pointers, 9/10 free throws). The Swiss team held up during the first two periods but was unable to stop the Greeks during their excellent third period performance. In that period, Ford's play, together with the contributions of Papamakarios, Papadatos and Pelakanos, helped Peristeri sweep Lugano whose only resistance came from Jameil Rich. In the 4th period Persisteri came out with its reserves and went from a 74-44 lead down to 78-62 in minute 37, giving up a run of 4-18 to the inspired Swiss team.
