Head Coaches

MESSINA, ETTORE
CSKA Moscow
"I am satisfied with the game my team played tonight. We ran the floor well, showed some good passing and we stayed fresh until the very end of the game. I tried to rotate players and some of the young guys did a very good job in the game. The match was devoted to the memory of Alexander Gomelski, whose birthday was on January 18, and that made the players to be even more focused on the game than usual."
GADOU, DIDIER
Pau-Orthez
"We cannot afford ourselves to play the game in Moscow like this. The players did not show the right level of the game for more than 20 minutes. They did not do what I wanted them to, did not want to prove anything and that was the reason for me to shout at them. It is going to be a very hard task for us right now to qualify to the Top 16, but we will do our best to show we are a team that can win the games."

Players

SAVRASENKO, ALEKSEY
CSKA Moscow
"Today we were a cut above Pau-Orthez. We lost the third quarter, but in fact we never lost the rhythm of the game. We played like a team – it is even difficult to distinguish somebody in the squad. Maybe Pau was suffering from the absence of Clint Harrison."
KASHIROV, ANATOLY
CSKA Moscow
"We were concentrated on our game from the first minute – it is the most important reason for our success. We were a real team on the court – everyone helped each other. Our shooting percentage was good today, too. We relaxed a bit at the beginning of the third quarter but woke up on time. I would like to distinguish Trajan Langdon, who scored at the very right moments."
SALES, BROOKS
Pau-Orthez
"CSKA played both good offense and defense. And we just fell apart. We let them collect offensive rebounds. We made some strange turnovers, missed some easy shots. Our defense was too bad today. I can say that my personal defense against David Andersen wasn't up to the mark. So it was too late to regroup when we finally tried to do it."
DROZDOV, ARTUR
Pau-Orthez
"It is difficult to find the words after such games. We didn't play our best basketball. I don't know the reasons – maybe some players thought we would lose anyway before the start of the game. I am sure some guys could have shown a much better level of basketball today."
