Vlado Ilievski stepped up with a driving layup and Shaun Stonerook nailed a triple from the right wing to get Montepaschi within 2. Head Coaches

MESSINA, ETTORE
CSKA Moscow
"The game was very difficult for us. Montepaschi tried to use their quickness, and they did it well. And now the difficulty in this period of the season is that not all the players understand what they should do in this very moment. That's the reason why I tried to use in the end of the game the players who have been with the team more than one year. I am grateful to the players for winning the game, and for taking decisions. Montepaschi is very strong opponent and I hope the win will become estra motivation for our players."
PIANIGIANI, SIMONE
Montepaschi Siena
"We had a great chance to win the game. I'm very sorry we missed it. Even when Moscow was up by 10 pooints, we didn't lose track of the game and we kept reading the situation. From the very start, our goal was to use the matchup Savrasenko-Lavrinovic to our advantage, and we were were able to do that. We let CSKA shoot some easy shots, but that happens sometimes. In the end, it was a good experience for us. We didn't play well in the last four or five possessions, and we let Smodis hit his two post-up shots, but for us it's important to stay confident and strong."

Players

SISKAUSKAS, RAMUNAS
CSKA Moscow
"The first home game is always important for the team. If you start well, you are in the group of leaders for almost all of the season. That's why the game was so important, and so hard to win."
ANDERSEN, DAVID
CSKA Moscow
"It was a good game, and a close one. We really need games like this to stay in good shape to be ready for others like it that will come later. I am really excited about playing tonight against Montepaschi and winning."
KAUKENAS, RIMANTAS
Montepaschi Siena
"This game was very important for us. It was very hard, and it's unfortuante that we didn't win it in the end. Anyway, I am very happy that we managed to play the way we did in Moscow."
LAVRINOVIC, KSISTOF
Montepaschi Siena
"The best moment of the game for us was when we were up by three points. We had a good system and it worked in a game of very high quality. The worst moment of the game was when we were down by two in the end. This made us nervous and caused us to make several mistakes in a row."
