U18 CFBB Paris came back from 10 points down in the final 100 seconds to beat U18 Khimki Moscow Region 72-74 and grab fifth place at the Euroleague Basketball ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Kaunas. Yohan Choupas scored 16 points, including a three-pointer with 2.8 seconds left, to give the reigning ANGT champions the win and a 2-2 record in Kaunas. Mathis Dossou-Yovo collected 15 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks for CFBB and Johan Randriamananjara added 14 points. Khimki was paced by 13 points from Anton Alakin, while Dmitrii Kadoshnikov posted 12 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks in the loss.

CFBB started well from the outside with Marko Coudreau hitting a pair of three-pointers and Choupas also successful from long range for a 9-13 lead. Kadoshnikov tallied 5 points at the other end and Khimki led 18-17 after 10 minutes. Alakin started heating up for Khimki, which began to pull away, 33-23. A Kadoshnikov three-point play increased the lead and Vladislav Odinokov’s triple put Khimki up 43-30. The score settled at 43-32 at halftime. The long ball got CFBB back in the game early in the second half with Choupas hitting a pair of triples and Randriamananjara scoring two baskets to knot the game at 47-47. But Khimki answered with an 11-0 run and led 61-52 after three quarters. After CFBB trimmed the gap to 61-56, Khimki pushed it out to 72-62. But Dossou-Yovo came up with a three-point play and Timothe Crusol hit a pair of layups to trim the gap to 72-71. Alakin missed free throws with 16 seconds left and Choupas stepped up with the game-winning three-pointer from the right corner with 2.8 seconds remaining.
