Partizan outpowers Reyer at home
Partizan NIS Belgrade registered its first win in Group A by downing Umana Reyer Venice 95-73 in the Serbian capital on Tuesday. Both teams now have 1-1 records in Group A. Rashawn Thomas led the winners with 22 points, Codi Miller-McIntyre added 18 and Ognjen Jaramaz had 17 for Partizan. Mitchell Watt led Reyer with 16 points and Mike Bramos added 11 for the visitors, who led 48-50 right after halftime. Miller-McIntyre and Thomas combined for 22 third-quarter points as Partizan grabbed a 75-58 margin after 30 minutes and never looked back.
Thomas and Bramos traded three-pointers to get their teams going. Jaramaz and Miller-McIntyre each buried a jumper and then Rade Zagorac scored in transition. Watt singlehandedly kept Reyer within 10-9. Jamaraz kept pushing Partizan and Marcus Paige finished a three-chance offense with a triple that caused Reyer to call timeout at 18-11. Jeremy Chappell and Austin Daye rescued the visitors from downtown and got help from Gasper Vidmar to tie the game at 23-23 after 10 minutes. Stefano Tonut joined the three-point shootout to put Reyer ahead, 23-26, early in the second quarter. Erik Mika and Stefan Jankovic each scored down low and Miller-McIntyre added a fastbreak layup for a 29-28 Partizan lead. Watt scored in the low post and Julyan Stone added a triple to give the Reyer fresh air at 29-33. Jankovic answered from beyond the arc, but Tonut and Isaac Fotu kept Reyer in charge, 34-39. Jaramaz took over with a layup-plus-foul and Mika hit a jumper, but Vidmar and Chappell helped the visitors stay ahead, 42-43, at halftime.
Chappell took over with a coast-to-coast layup right after the break. He didn't find much help around, however, allowing Thomas and Nemanja Gordic to put Partizan ahead, 48-47. Bramos and Jaramaz traded triples, then Thomas followed a dunk with a layup-plus-foul for a 58-52 Partizan lead. Mika scored again and Thomas buried a shot from downtown to force Reyer to stop the game at 63-54. Thomas kept pushing the hosts, getting plenty of help from Miller-McIntyre and William Mosley to break the game open, 75-58, after 30 minutes. Partizan kept running its offense through its most athletic players early in the fourth quarter. Paige struck from beyond the arc and Dangubic put on the exclamation mark with a huge dunk that sealed the outcome, 82-60, as Reyer never recovered.
Pivotal performer
Miller-McIntyre did a little bit of everything to make sure Partizan cruised to a well-deserved win. He finished the game with 18 points on 7-of-8 two-point shooting, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and 5 fouls drawn for a PIR of 25 - 1 shy of his career-best effort.
Game-changing moment
Thomas hit the game's opening shot, but picked up 2 quick fouls and sat out for the best part of the first half. He had 10 points in a 15-4 run that allowed Partizan to take the lead for good, 63-54, late in the third quarter. From dunks to three-pointers to layup-plus-fouls, he showcased his full set of skills in that run.
Stellar stat
Partizan outrebounded Reyer 42-25 in this game including 18 offensive rebounds, its best mark in the competition since 2017. Nine of those offensive boards came in the first quarter, in which Partizan set the tone for the rest of the game in terms of energy and willingness. Partizan also sank 28 of 45 two-point shots (62.2%) and Reyer only made 15 of 31 (48.4%)

It was Partizan's widest home win in EuroCup history. Its previous biggest margin was 19 points when it beat Limoges CSP 77-58 on December 18, 2019. Partizan beat Dolomiti Energia Trento by 25 points (58-83) on the road on January 15, 2020.
