Michineau opened the second half with a dunk only to see Maye drain a three-pointer in an 8-0 charge as the advantage grew to 41-30. Metropolitans used tough defense and three-pointers to get back into the game with Pinault, Konate and Paul Stoll all hitting from deep to trim the deficit to 44-42. Maye answered with a three-pointer, but Pinault added another triple and the score was 47-45 after 30 minutes. Metropolitans continued its hot long-range shooting with Anthony Brown and Pinault both hitting three-pointers to pull ahead 49-51. Chikoko’s score made it 53-55, but the visitors struggled to get any scoring after that. Browne answered with a three-pointer to start a 14-2 run, which also included another Morgan triple and 4 points from Victor Sanders, whose floater ensured the win at 67-57 with 65 seconds left in the game.

Head Coaches

MOLIN, EMANUELE
Dolomiti Energia Trento

"It’s not so important that this is my first game as head coach. The guys gave effort and were committed. At this moment, the only thing I can say is thanks to the guys because they stayed together and they gave the effort mentally and physically."

"With a victory, you are always happy. It was an important game for us. It was more important than just a simple win. It’s an opportunity for us to trust more because we were depressed from losses and losses. You lose your confidence. The team was working, the team was fighting, but we were struggling. So tonight we really made a big mental effort."

ZDOVC, JURE
Boulogne Metropolitans 92
"It was a tough game. It was a very physical game. I cannot say that we didn’t fight. We really fought hard, but we made too many mistakes. With so many turnovers it’s very difficult to win a game. We couldn’t execute our offense. They pushed us out of our systems. Defensively we played correctly. But offensively, like I said, too many turnovers. We didn’t share the ball like we said at halftime. We were late. We didn’t find the extra pass."

Players

MAYE, LUKE
Dolomiti Energia Trento
"This was so important. We had been struggling and it was good to come together and get a hard-fought win against a really good team. We just have to keep battling. This one was for Coach Nick [Brienza] and everything he did. He’s a great coach and we let him down. We gotta be better and we’re gonna try to play for him the rest of the season. We played good defense and played together. We were struggling and we just needed to come together and fight and play as well as we could to get a win and that’s what we did."
