Head Coaches

MACHOWSKI, SEBASTIAN
EWE Baskets Oldenburg
"We started really well and showed our willingness to win this game. When they switched to a zone defense our offense lost its focus. But in the end, we lost because we made too many individual mistakes and for three quarters showed no aggressiveness on defense. They scored on easy pick and rolls and got far too many second chance points. We never regained our offensive rhythm, at times passing the ball around the perimeter like a hot potato. We missed a huge chance tonight and it will become much harder to go onto the next round."
CHOULET, JEAN-DENYS
Elan Chalon sur Saone
"It is a good road win for us. I am disappointed that they scored the last three point shot, which took away the head-to-head advantage. Our first quarter was terrible, but I saw a chance by switching to a 3-2 zone. I don’t know why our man-to-man defense didn’t work today, maybe we were tired, but the zone proved highly effective, so we stayed with it throughout the game. This turned out to be the key to the whole game, as Oldenburg never found a solution to our defense."

Players

JENKINS, JULIUS
EWE Baskets Oldenburg
"Tonight we hurt our chances of qualifying for the next round. Now we have to win our next games. It will be a challenge but we can do it. We didn’t score on open looks, but the real key to our loss was, that we simply gave away too many second chance points."
BROCKMAN, JON
Elan Chalon sur Saone
"The first quarter was really bad. We simply weren’t in the game. When we switched to the zone defense, we realized quickly that we had a chance to win this game. At the half we had dug ourselves out of the first quarter hole and kept chipping away at Oldenburg’s lead. It was a good win for us, but there is still a lot of work on the road ahead."
