ratiopharm Ulm locked up third place in Group F by winning 68-83 on the road over Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt to also secure bragging rights among the German clubs. David Kraemer scored 15 points with 6 rebounds while Ismet Akpinar and Ryan Thompson both had 13 points, Javonte Green 11 and new acquisition Ra'Shad James picked up 10 points as Ulm improved to 2-3 in the group – winning the battle of teams that had already been eliminated from contention for the quarterfinals. Tyler Larson poured in 24 points with 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals for a performance index rating of 35 while Elijah Clarance added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the loss, which dropped Skyliners' record to 0-5.

Shawn Huff finally stopped a 5-minute scoreless drought for Skyliners, which got three-pointers from Huff and Garai Zeeb to trail 20-21 after 10 minutes. Kraemer continued his strong game with a three as the advantage grew to 20-26. But the Skyliners bombers remained hot with Clarance hitting twice from deep and Larson and Tra Holder both connected from outside in going ahead 34-31. Akpinar and Larson swapped 5 points and Skyliners went into the break up 39-38. Ugrai and Akpinar both hit triples early in the second half and the Ulm lead was up to 43-48. The guests were held scoreless for the next 3 minutes and a big Clarance dunk completed a 10-1 Skyliners run to move ahead 53-49. Ulm finished the third quarter with 6 straight free throws to lead 55-57 after 30 minutes. James opened the final frame with 2 three-pointers for Ulm and Akpinar and Green hit from deep in a 0-9 surge as Skyliners was kept scoreless for nearly 3 minutes and Ulm went ahead 61-72. Green and James both scored another basket as the lead swelled to 63-76 to decide the game.

Head Coaches

HERBERT, GORDON
Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt
"I thought that we played a pretty good first half - a good 25 minutes. We kind of ran out of gas the last 15. We missed some dunks, we missed some free throws, layups. We missed 7 free throws, shot 58%, missed three dunks I think. They played really well in the fourth quarter. They started making some shots, James started making some shots. I thought our effort was good. I thought we have to learn how to stay together when things don't go well. We kind of came apart at times. But I thought our effort was good. We just have to keep moving forward."
LEIBENATH, THORSTEN
ratiopharm Ulm
"I believe Frankfurt is one of the most physical teams on defense and you could definitely see it in the third quarter when we really didn't find good answers on offense. They pressured us, we turned the ball over. But we were able to counter it at the end of the third quarter and definitely in the fourth quarter. We came up with better looks and we scored the ball well and we also played pretty good defense and forced them into turnovers."

Players

HOLDER, TRA
Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt
"We have to play better on offense and defense. At the end of the first half and beginning of the second half we got a little bit stagnant. We have to watch film and get better."
JAMES, RASHAD
ratiopharm Ulm
"We just stuck to the script of what we were doing in practice this past week. Even though we are not advancing, it's good to have a winning mentality because we will see these guys again in the [German] BBL. I am just trying to find my groove and stick to what I do best. Regardless if the shots are falling or not, just keep my energy high and play defense."
