Benetton Tamoil used a huge third quarter surge to collect an 89-73 victory on the road against BC Kyiv in Group H. Matteo Soragna nailed four three-pointers and Lionel Chalmers scored six of his game-high 22 points in a 24-5 run to close the third period, turning a three-point lead into a 22-point bulge. All told, Soragna scored 14 of his 18 points in the big run as Treviso evened its record at 3-3 with its second straight victory. Angelo Gigli added 14 points and 10 rebounds while Reece Gaines also scored 14 points for the winners and Mario Austin chipped in 13. Kyiv drops to 4-2 with its second loss in three games despite 21 points and 10 rebounds by Artur Drozdov. Ryan Stack had 16 points for Kyiv and Pooh Jeter added 15 in a losing effort. Kyiv next travels to ASK Riga while Treviso hosts Pau-Orthez next week. Benetton led 35-43 at halftime and used a 5-24 run in the third quarter behind 14 points from Soragna to break the game open, 50-72, after 30 minutes, enough to seal an important win.

Jeter got the hosts on the board first and Marcus Faison's three-ball made it a 5-0 game. But Chalmers scored four baskets and Gaines and Gigli each knocked down triples in a 4-22 surge to open a 9-22 lead. Stack's three-pointer stopped the bleeding but Gaines hit another long-ball and the lead was 14-27 after one period. Stack opened the second period with a basket only to be followed by a Chalmers three-pointer. But Jacobs Jaacks, Drozdov and Stack all hit from downtown to trim the gap to 27-31. Giuliano Maresca answered with a long-ball for Treviso and back-to-back baskets by Soragna re-established a 31-41 advantage. And the guests led 35-43 at the break. The lead was back to 35-46 on Austin's three-point play to start the third. But Drozdov came back down with a three-ball and hit another from long range to make it 45-48 midway through the third. But Treviso blew the game open with a 5-24 run to close the third period as Soragna scored 14 points on four three-balls and Chalmers hit for six points to give the guests a 50-72 lead going into the fourth. Nana Mensah-Bonsu's free throw started the final period and a three-pointer by Stack and Jeter's basket trimmed the margin to 55-73. Drozdov and Jeter tried their best to bring Kyiv back into the game but long-balls from Gaines and Gigli left Treviso ahead 61-83 with four minutes left. Kyiv was only able to cut the lead to 16 points the rest of the way in a tough loss at home.

"First of all, I want to say that Benetton deserved this win 100 percent. This team became much more organized and its coach did a great job. Today we started the game not as aggressive on defense as we should have. When Benetton led by 10 points and later more, we were shocked and lost control. I hope that this game will be good school for us. We should stand up, analyze our mistakes and be focused on the next games."

"Tonight we played against a very structured team with very good players and a very good coach. But we controlled it from the first minutes until the end on both sides of the court. It was our day, we did a good job."
