Giorgi Shermandini completed a three-point play and Gentile hit free throws as Cantu was up 56-37 at the intermission.

Williams increased the lead to 21 points with the first basket of the second half. Koponen scored the next basket, but Khimki could never get enough defensive stops to really make a significant comeback. The guests trimmed the deficit to 66-49 but Hollis came back down and nailed a three to make it 69-49. Egor Vyaltsev knocked down a triple and Rice’s layup got the margin down to 69-56. But Johnson-Odom answered back with a three and Feldeine and Shermandini added baskets as the lead went back to 76-56. And Cantu led 76-58 after three quarters. Koponen opened the fourth quarter and got the deficit to 16. Marco Lagana answered with a three-pointer and the lead was back up to 81-60. The cushion was still 84-65 after a Hollis three before Khimki eventually cut into the gap. "This evening there are a lot of positive things. First at all we beat Khimki and it is very important because Khimki is a team of Euroleague level. This evening each player gave a positive contribution. Of course shooting 50% on three-pointers helped us. We are very happy because we probably played the best game of the year and we started the right way the Last 32."
KURTINAITIS, RIMAS

"First at all, congratulations to Cantu on a great game. This evening they were stronger than us. We lost a little bit of energy. We had a long a long series of victories and some players probably thinks that it is sufficient to play good offense to win. It’s not true. Today Cantu scored 99 points. That is too much in the Eurocup. In the second quarter we didn’t have a time out and players lost control of the game and Cantu score 34 points. Is the key of the game. It’s really difficult to play when you are down 20. It is an away game and there are a lot of games to play because it’s only the beginning of the Last 32. So we have to think about the next game."
