Cedevita Zagreb ignited its performance in the Ciudad de L'Hospitalet tournament with a close win 67-69 over KK Spars on Wednesday afternoon in L'Hospitalet, Spain. Following the win Cedevita holds a 1-0 record in Group B while the losing side fell to 0-1. Tomorrow the teams will resume their games as KK Spars will take on the reigning champion FC Barcelona Regal while Cedevita will try to get another win facing Cajasol. Filip Bundovic had 19 points for the winners followed by Antun Hrkac with 16. The top scorer of Spars was Stefan Glogovac and Nedim Buza added 15 with 13 rebounds. The game was close from the start but Spars held the lead throughout most of the first half and reached the break with a 35-41 advantage. Glogovac led Spars to a 41-50 gap midway in the third quarter but Hrkac scored scored seven points out of nine unanswered to force a tie score at the bottom of the third period. Bundovic stepped up early in the closing quarter and another run by Cedevita, this time 7-0, helped to create a 10 point gap, 68-58 with four minutes to play. Spars didn't give up and Glogovac hit five in a row and together with Doko Salic scored nine points in a row to make it just a one point game, still with 1:45 to play. Missed shots on both ends led to Hrkac walking to the free throw line with 11 seconds to play. He hit the second shot and a missed three pointer with the buzzer by Buza allowed Cedevita to celebrate.
