Lavrinovic, Gecevicius lead Lietuvos Rytas over Turow

Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius led from tip to buzzer in defeating PGE Turow Zgorzelec 98-86 to begin the Last 32 in the best way. Ksistof Lavrinovic led the winners with 22 points, Martynas Gecevicius contributed with 16 points and 10 assists, Anatanas Kavaliauskas scored 13, Gediminas Orleik netted 12 points with 5 boards, Adas Juskevicius added 11 with 5 assists and Billly Baron scored 10 in a balanced Rytas attack. Rytas dished 27 assists and scored 11 of its 22 three-pointers. Turow got 23 points from Michal Chylinski, 21 from Damian Kulig, while Mardy Collins flirted with the triple-double, amassing 20 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists.
Chylinski tied at 4-4 for the visitors, before Orelik from downtown gave the first big margin, 15-8, to the home team. A mid-range jumper bagged by Lavrinovic extended the difference to double figures, 21-10. Then free throws for the hosts and a layup by Kulig fixed the score at 27-16 after 10 minutes. Three consecutive baskets from downtown by Lavrinovic, Mindaugas Lukauskis and Baron gave the best margin so far, 40-23 to Rytas. Tony Taylor and Ivan Zigeranovic pushed Turow within 42-31 with three minutes left. The hosts stayed hot with Lavrinovic to finish up 52-37 at halftime.
A huge dunk by Kavaliauskas made it 58-40 early in the second half. Juskevicius made it a 20-point game. Chylinski cut the difference from the foul line, 66-53, but Lavrinovic answered with a four-point-play, and scored his 20th point to make it 76-59 through three quarters. Mike Moser dunked and Gecevicius and Nemanja Jaramaz exchanged threes but the difference remained over 20 points, 89-66. Nothing changed in the final minute with the hosts taking the control and the visitors cutting a little bit the difference through Collins and Kulig.
