Paris Levallois scored its first win in Group A by rolling past Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia 88-76. Landing Sane scored 19 points and shot 3 for 3 from downtown to lead the winners, who collectively made 14 of 24 three-pointers (58.3%). Reggio Emilia was tough early. It led early and trailed by just 1 after 10 minutes and 4 at halftime. However the second half belonged to Paris, which took control in the third quarter and never looked back. Sharrod Ford posted 15 points and 11 boards for the winners, who outrebounded Reggio Emilia 43- 33. Nicolas Lang added 14 points, Maleye Ndoye scored 13 and Giovan Oniangue 12. Federico Mussini scored 19 for Reggio Emilia, which dropped to 1-1 with the loss. Amedeo Della Valle added 18 points and 5 assists and Ksistof Lavrinovic netted 13.

Reggio Emilia jumped in front 0-5 after Andrea Cinciarini’s steal and three-pointer. Rimas Kaukenas boosted the visitors to 6-10. Ford scored inside to tie the game before Sane buried a three for a 13-10 Paris edge. Lavrinovic heated up for Reggio Emilia, tied the game, and after Oniangue sank a three, Lavrinovic free throws made it 20-19 after 10 minutes. The visitors edged ahead with points on three consecutive possessions and a Della Valle triple made it 25-30. Paris did not falter, but instead reeled off the next 11 points with Ndoye and Oniangue each connecting from behind the arc. Blake Schilb and Ford put the hosts up 42-34 before Lavrinovic sank a triple and Della Valle added a free throw to make it 42-38 at the half.

Oniangue and Sane opened the second half with back-to-back triples as Paris quickly crafted a double-digit lead. A pair of Della Valle threes, both assisted on by Cinciarini, only clawed Reggio Emilia within 53-46. Sane stayed hot and his slam made it 62-48 midway through the quarter. Mussini’s baskets were not enough to spark the visitors as Ndoye put Paris in control, 71-54, through three quarters. Mussini scored 6 quick points early in the fourth and Della Valle added free throws, but Paris remained comfortably ahead. Lang’s fourth three of the night put Paris up by 18 and ended any doubts. The visitors trimmed the gap in the closing minutes and even got within 11, but Paris held on for the win.

Head Coaches

BEUGNOT, GREGOR
Paris Levallois
"We had good passages in offense but also in defense. But be careful, it’s been difficult for many times and we have to improve those parts of our games. We let them come back sometimes and this needs to be corrected."
MENETTI, MASSIMILIANO
Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia
"Congratulations to Paris Levallois, which won this game thanks to good shooting during all the 40 minutes. That was the major difference between the two teams. We tried to do our best with our injuries but that was difficult tonight."

Players

SANE, LANDING
Paris Levallois
"After our three defeats last week in championship and Eurocup, we had to do a good game. It is easier when we do our basketball, and largely better than always reacting. It’s a good victory but we have to continue and improve."
LAVRINOVIC, KSISTOF
Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia
"Congratulations to Paris! We played a good game but a bad third quarter. We missed open shots to let them a large advance, and that was too difficult to come back in the last quarter."
