Bilbao Basket
"Before I start talking about the game, I want to thank the 'black flood', the 'Miribilla Effect', our sixth man, our fans, for their support and the faith they had until the very last second. I want to congratulate my players because they had faith - down by 9 in the fourth quarter, down by 14 points to qualify, they played great defense and did things right on offense. I also want to congratulate Oldenburg because they had a great game. I think it was a great show for all basketball fans; two teams with very different styles, but the same goal, fighting hard for all 40 minutes. We had a cold start, which allowed Oldenburg, a very talented team, to find easy baskets early in the game. We improved in the second quarter, especially at the end of it. We got steals which led to easy baskets and reached halftime with a 5-point lead. I believe that they played really well in the third quarter, and hurt us a lot in pick-and-roll situations. The key was that we only had 1 turnover in the fourth quarter, also found the way to the basket. We were struggling and when we saw it was a tough situation, we played with more confidence and accuracy, especially from three-point range. Controlling the boards was critical and our faith also paid off. We powered the offensive boards and had a lot of second-chance options."
