Unics Kazan rounded a perfect Eurocup regular season by downing MZT Skopje Aerodrom 62-88 in Group G on the road on Wednesday. Unics was the only team to win all of its 10 regular season games. It also became the first Eurocup team to win its opening 10 games since Spartak St. Petersburg did it in the 2011-12 season. Skopje was sixth in group G with a 1-9 record. Andrew Goudelock paced the winners with 19 points. Luke Harangody added 18, Tywain McKee had 15 and Ian Vougioukas got 11 for Unics. Damjan Stojanovski and Ivan Marinkovic led Skopje with 12 points apiece. Todor Gecevski had 10 for the hosts. A jumper by Uros Lucic tied the game, 25-25, late in the first quarter. As many as six different players scored in a 0-16 run that broke the game open, 25-41, and an outstanding Goudelock - 17 first-half points - allowed Unics to get a 34-52 margin at the break. Nothing changed after the break, as Unics boosted its margin to 47-75 after 30 minutes and never looked back.

Three-pointers by Harangody and Goudelock gave Unics an early 4-6 lead. Gecevski answered from downtown but Vougioukas quickly put Unics back ahead, 7-10. Gecevski got plenty of help from Alexandar Kostoski to give Skopje a 15-12 margin. An outstanding Goudelock, McKee and consecutive three-pointer by Kostas Kaimakoglou allowed Unics to get a 25-29 edge after 10 minutes. McKee and Pavel Sergeev struck from downtown in a 0-16 run that broke the game open, 25-41, midway through the second quarter. Gecevski and Marinkovic tried to change things for Skopje but Goudelock kept Unics way ahead, 33-46. Goudelock kept pacing Unics to an 18-point lead, 34-52, at halftime. Vougioukas took over after the break and another triple by Harangody made it a 23-point game, 36-59. Harangody kept pacing Unics and a layup by Sergeev sealed the outcome, 43-70, late in the third quarter. McKee hit free throws and fed Sergeev for a three-pointer that fixed the score at 47-75 after 30 minutes. Skopje kept trying but Unics had plenty of time to celebrate its 10th consecutive win.

"Congratulations to Unics Kazan for their win. They showed their class tonight. I think they are one of the best teams in the Europe. We don’t have any pressure regarding the result from this game. It is always bad when you lost game on a home court. We weren't preparing for this game especially, we wanted to try some new things that we are going to need for the next games, but they don’t work tonight."
TRINCHIERI, ANDREA

"I’m satisfied by how my players played in this game, aside the fact that in the first quarter we let our opponent score 25 points. We played so much better in the next three periods. It was hard to motivate my players, but they did a good job tonight and stayed professional."
