Louis Campbell led five Strasbourg scorers in double figures in a 60-82 victory over Unics Kazan which left the two teams tied atop Group G with 3-2 records. Strasbourg put itself in a position to win the group next week. Unics would have won group G if it beat Strasbourg. Campbell starred with 22 points on 6-of-10 three-point shooting. Antoine Diot added 16 points and 5 assists, Matt Howard and Ali Traore scored 11 points apiece and Axel Toupane had 10. Keith Langford led Unics with 17 points and James White scored 16. Unics used an 11-0 run to take an early lead and led 17-11 after 10 minutes. However Strasbourg started the second quarter with 12 unanswered points, held Unics to 12 points for the entire quarters, and led 29-39 at the break. The hosts stayed close during the third quarter, but Campbell drained 3 threes in a 0-15 fourth-quarter run that paved Strasbourg’s way to victory.

After threes by Howard and Campbell gave Strasbourg a slim lead, Unics reeled off 11 unanswered points with baskets by four players to take a 15-6 lead. Howard split free throws to make it 17-11 after 10 minutes. Diot scored the first 5 points of the second quarter and Toupave added 5 more in a 0-12 Strasbourg charge to take the lead. Dmitry Sokolov revived the hosts and Langford free throws made it 23-25, but the Strasbourg attack continued to generate offense. Campbell scored twice more and Toupane dunked in stretching the lead before a Tadija Dragicevic triple gave the visitors a double-digit lead. Curtis Jerrells split free throws to end the half at 29-39.

Back-to-back three-pointers by Langford closed the gap to 35-41 early in the second half. White drilled a three to make it a 5-point game. Diot sandwiched 5 free throws around a Dragicevic three to give Strasbourg a 38-51 advantage. Langford kept Khimki in the game at 45-54 through three quarters. Jerrells free throws got Khimki within 7, however Campbell ten took over. He drilled 3 three-pointers in a 0-15 run as Strasbourg bolted to a 47-69 lead. The Strasbourg advantage peaked at 53-80 on Campbell’s next three as the visitors cruised to victory.

"It was a great win for us. Judging by the first game in Strasbourg, we saw that Unics is a strong team, taking into account that Unics missed Fischer and during the game Kaimakoglou was injured after the first period. This is why we expected a tough game in Kazan. Our expectations proved right in the first quarter, but in the second quarter we improved in defense and found solutions in offense and we started to lead. After the first half we expected that Unics would return in the game, but we continued tough defense and kept the difference. We shot well on three-point shots; Campbell was especially good there."
