Gran Canaria became the third Spanish team to win a EuroCup game in La Fonteta. Bilbao Basket was the first one to do it, 60-61, on January 29, 2013. Unicaja Malaga also beat Valencia at La Fonteta, 58-63, in Game 3 of the EuroCup Finals on April 5, 2017, to lift the trophy.

"The game had two very different parts. In the first 30 minutes, especially in the first half, we didn't have the energy that the game required. That translated into situations that cannot happen to us, but happened today, like someone dribbling on a fast break and finishing with a layup, which, I think, happened to us three times. In other situations, we had the ball almost under control, but they turn into 2 three-pointers, a three-point play and a layup when the ball looked ours but we lost it. We had 12 turnovers in the first half. It means we didn't play with the intensity required, with the right energy, and this is what I told my team. I didn't manage to make my team start the game the way we should. After that, the team was able to bounce back in the final 10 minutes, and that means we could have played the opening 30 minutes the same way. And we didn't, which is something we have to look at and improve right away."

"They also had options to win the game. However, we were solid on our pick-and-roll defense and in the last quarter. They made a lot of threes but we had a great rhythm at this moment, making better decisions. In those moments, we needed to be calm and this is why we decided to use a small lineup even when Nicolas Brussino was doing a great job at both ends. We knew it was going to be a close game and were aware of their potential and we wanted to control the tempo. We always played with the same rhythm even when, at times, we could hit more shots or less shots. It is very difficult to score 90 points against this team, so we took good decisions and shot the ball well, which was very positive. I am happy that my team was so brave."

"It is big for us. Being on the road, it is us against the team, the fans, but we just tried to stay together. This is a great team. Obviously, they had their ups and downs, but we keep the same mentality all the time. We know that every game is so important, especially on the road. Coach gives us so much confidence. We have great guys and we were able to share the ball. I think we are so dangerous because we have so many guys who can make those shots. When you shoot them, it is less pressure because you have a guy beside you who can make the same shot."
ALBICY, ANDREW
Gran Canaria
"We want to be in a good position for the next round. We have a lot of games to finish, but we are in a good way. We were a little bit disappointed when we lost the first game, so we wanted to come back and right now, we are in a good vibe, I would say. I hope we can keep playing like that. Valencia is very good. We know they will be on top of the EuroCup, so it is never easy to win here, especially, so we knew the game was going to be very difficult. But we kept playing good, kept sharing the ball, made some big shots and stayed together, and that was most important for me."
