U18 Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius ran away with a dominant 85-56 over U18 CFBB Paris in the opening game of Group B at the Euroleague Basketball ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Kaunas. Marek Blazevic led the 2012 continental champions with 19 points and 12 rebounds for an index rating of 34. Simas Jarumbauskas had 19 points and 9 rebounds while Deividas Sirvydis chipped in 16 points and Jonas Paukste had 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks for Rytas. Yohan Choupas scored a team-high 12 points for the reigning ANGT champion CFBB while Timothe Crusol picked up 10 points as the French side hit just 32 percent from the field.

The game was back and forth for the first few minutes with five consecutive lead changes with Blazevic’s three-point play making it 11-9 for Rytas. CFBB went more than 3 minutes without a score and Jarumbauskas scored 4 points in a 10-0 run and Jarumbauskas’ three-pointer made it 21-10. A triple from Sirvydis put the lead at 24-12 and it was 27-17 after 10 minutes. Sirvydis tallied 5 points as Rytas opened the second quarter with an 11-0 run to go up 38-19. Choupas finally got CFBB on the board after more than 5 minutes but Blazevic and Jarumbauskas combined for 12 points over the rest of the half and Rytas was up 52-25 at the break. CFBB had a run to start the second half with Choupas and Marko Coudreau combining for 9 points in an 0-11 start to trim the deficit to 52-36. But Rytas held the reigning champs scoreless for nearly 4 minutes and led 66-45 after 30 minutes. Rytas then opened the fourth quarter with a 9-0 surge to lead 75-45. And CFBB would not get any closer than 25 points the rest of the way.
