Real Madrid booked a place in the Nike International Junior Tournament L’Hospitalet final on Sunday morning with a superb 72-66 win over Cajasol Sevilla. Jonathan Kasibabu was Madrid’s top scorer in the game with 17 points, also pulling down 9 rebounds, while 16-point Alberto Martin provided 10 assists as he did his bit to take Madrid through. The standout player in the game, however, was Cajasol’s Kristaps Porzingis, who hit 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Madrid was outscored for both of the opening two quarters, going into halftime trailing 30-36. A consistent third quarter, in which Cajasol scored just 8 points (only 6 from open play), put the game within reach for Madrid heading into the final period and after drawing level on a number of occasions late in that last ten minutes, Los Blancos eventually snatched the lead with 26 seconds remaining –Valter Lindstron hitting a clutch three-pointer to make it 68-65. 4 further points from Lindstron from the free throw line fell before the final buzzer, giving Madrid a 72-66 win and taking it through to face FIATC Joventut Badalona in the final.
