Brose Baskets Bamberg finished its Torneig de Básquet Júnior “Ciutat de L’Hospitalet” on a high note in collecting its first victory of the tournament by beating host team CB L’Hospitalet 75-68 to take seventh place. Andreas Obst nailed 4 three-pointers in leading Bamberg with 18 points while Leon Kratzer had 17 points and 6 rebounds and Constantin Ebert added 12 points. L’Hospitalet lost all four of its games, dropping the last one despite 20 points from Xavier Moreno while Unai Garcia had 18 points and Marc Ruf 14. L’Hospitalet led most of the first quarter with Garcia and Moreno both knocking down long balls to build a 22-13 lead. The margin grew to 25-15 but was down to 25-17 after one quarter. Kratzer scored six points in Bamberg’s 0-9 start to the second quarter to pull ahead 25-26. L’Hospitalet was leading 30-29 when Brose used a 0-8 surge to grab a 30-37 advantage. The gap was as many as eight points at 33-41 before the teams went into the break with Bamberg up 35-41. After Moreno’s trey trimmed the deficit to five points, Kratzer scored back-to-back baskets to open a nine-point cushion, which grew to 47-57 before the third quarter ended 51-59. Ebert and Obst hit three balls early in the fourth to push the lead to 51-65. L’Hospitalet finally scored after five minutes without a point before an Obst trey made it 59-70 with just less than three minutes to play. L’Hospitalet eventually got the margin down to 66-70 with two minutes left but another triple from Obst with 49 seconds to play made it 66-75.
