Demetrius Alexander - BC AzovmashBC Azovmash picked up its first win and handed Hapoel Gilboa/Galil Elyon its second straight home loss 86-95 on Tuesday evening in Jerusalem, Israel. Azovmash led from start to finish and dominated the game behind a great shooting day. The visiting side scored 95 points and hit 57% of its shots inside the arc and stopped at 41% from long distance. Galil made a second half comeback and reduced the gap to just five points with seven minutes on the game clock, but Azovmash found the tools to answer with a 3-18 run that put an end to Galil's hopes. Demetrius Alexander had a huge night for the winners with 31 points with seven in eight inside the arc and five three pointers in seven attempts. Fred House added 20 points with seven boards and four assists while Maksym Pustozvonov collected 17 points. Dagan Yivzori topped the list of Galil's scoring sheet with 18 points all of them from behind the perimeter, Warren Carter added 16, Rodney Green had 14 and Gal Mekel finished with a double-double of 11 points, 11 assists and six rebounds.

Azovmash enjoyed the better start and scored the first eight points in the game, before Warren Carter ignited the game for the locals and set the score on 6-10. Alexander was on fire and reached 11 points already after six minutes, and when he got help from House the scoreboard showed 15-24 Azovmash lead. Carter was the only one able to convert and after ten minutes of basketball the visitors held an 18-26 lead with 11 of Galil's points scored by the big man. Gal Mekel started the second quarter with good minutes and with five points in a row put Galil on top 31-30, but Alexander and House joined forces again and led the visitors to score the next 11 points and write another double-digit lead, 31-41. Green picked up his game and attacked the rim to make it 40-49 at the end of the first half.

Alexander continued his big night after the break and with another three pointer followed with slashes by Chris Owens Azovmash climbed to a 50-67 gap after 26 minutes. Before things got unpleasant Galil found its answer in Mekel who took over the game and together with Yivzori and Vishay Gordon cut on the gap to only 12 at the end of the third quarter, 59-71 with still 10 more minutes to change things. Yivzori added another long range hit and made it a single point margin game, and after Jack McClendon hit from the arc it was just 68-73 with seven minutes to play in the game. Azovmash found the answer before it got too late in its top two performances of the night as House and then Alexander fired back-to-back three pointers and soon the gap was back to 10, 73-86 following a three pointer by Pustozvonov as well to set a 3-18 run that decided the game and gave Azovmash a key road win.

LUBIN, LIOR
Hapoel Gilboa Galil
"We still have a lot of things to improve. We didn't have a good start to the game last week as well and just like then we had to chase them for 40 minutes. We didn't have the needed energy to win the game, and it felt like there was something missing. Sometimes you play well and sometimes you don't. Right now we showed improvement from previous weeks but still need to continue working hard to improve more and get back on the winning track in the Eurocup."
JARUTIS, ROLANDAS
Azovmash Mariupol
"I can't say it was an easy win for us. We played against a good team and every road game is difficult at this level. We play in four competitions this season and it's very difficult to play almost every second day - sometimes while we are still looking to add players. The key for the win tonight was the way we executed and did the small things right. We didn't have stupid turnovers and moved the ball very well which helped us get easy points."

"We need to forget quickly about our last two Eurocup losses and think on how to get better for the next games in order to win them. We didn't play with enough energy today. We are a young team and are supposed to live on our energies but if we play without it we can't win. I try to give my best for the team and stay positive. We can still make good things in the Eurocup. The great win in Zagreb shows that we can do it."
ALEXANDER, DEMETRIUS
Azovmash Mariupol
"I remember having several great games in this arena when I played for Hapoel Jerusalem almost 10 years ago. It was a good game for us. We lost focus in the fourth quarter and didn't shoot the ball right. We should have more discipline, but what matters is that we regrouped and found the way to get our first Eurocup win. I'm in good shape, stay fit and this is my secret to keep a good performance at this age."
