"Congratulations to Valencia. We did our best and played on a high level in the first half of the game. Valencia had poor shooting average which was good for us and we saw our chances in that. Like in the few games prior to this one, we slowed down in the third period. Valencia is a strong team and its position in the Spanish League talks about it. My team had very bad defense in the third period and that was our weakness in this game."
SPAHIJA, NEVEN
Power Electronics Valencia
"We said before the game that it is difficult to play with such a long trip after having played on Sunday. We won because of our defense. We struggled from the three-point line, which is difficult to understand. We have very good shooter but played tough defense in the second half. We showed everyone how to win a difficult game with good defense. That was the key, because we were frustrated in the first half with so many open shots missed. We were doing things well but shots did not fall in. We improved our defense after the break to win the game. I understood that De Colo could not win this game on his own and that is why I tried to play with Nando and Marko Marinovic together on court. It is always good to start with a win, especially on the road."

"It has been a difficult win, because we did not play well in the first half, missing many three-point shots and playing without confidence. The second half was totally different. We got our confidence back and played really well when we needed it. It was very important for us to start the Eurocup with a road win and now we are looking forward to face Le Mans next week. This is just the beginning of the season but this win may allow us to play better in the future. We came to play in Serbia four times in 2009. I love to be back in my country, with the chance to see my family and friends after the game."
