Thanks to the 77-70 triumph, Spars is in a strong position to go through to Saturday's final.
Spars led for almost the entirety of the first half, going into the break 32-27 up. Starting the third quarter strong, it pulled out an advantage that extended to as much as 18 points, fighting off Malaga fightbacks to establish a comfortable advantage for the final quarter. There was to be no way back in for Malaga, although it would reduce the deficit to single digits before the end thanks to a late Fernando Alonso 3-pointer and Domantas Sabonis layup. Nedim Buza led Spars in scoring, collecting 31 points and 7 rebounds, while teammate Doko Salic posted 20 points and Aleksej Nikolic 17. Unicaja Malaga spread the points evenly, with Sabonis hitting 16 points, Romaric Belemene-Dzabatou and Morayoninuoluwa Soluade 15 each and Alonso 14.
