U18 CFBB Paris took a big step forwards in the Euroleague Basketball ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Finals by downing U18 Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade 77-62 in Round 2 on Friday morning. CFBB improved to 2-0 and on the right track to reach the Euroleague Basketball ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Finals Championship Game while Zvezda dropped to 0-2 and has ran out of chances to make it to its fourth consecutive title game. Ivan Fevrier led the winners with 20 points. Joel Ayayi and Yanik Blanc each had 14, Mathis Dossou-Yovo had 12 while Sofiane Briki dished 11 assists and collected six steals for CFBB. Aleksa Uskokovic led Zvezda with 27 points. CFBB dished 28 assists and picked up just 7 turnovers. Zvezda was limited to 13 assists and 21 turnovers, in which was the biggest key to this game.

Blanc and Fevrier combined for nine points in an opening 11-2 CFBB run. Uskokovic and Milos Stajcic stepped up for Zvezda but a dunk by an unstoppable Fevrier boosted his team's margin to 22-10. Blanc nailed a corner three-pointer, Ayayi followed an off-balance basket with free throws and a dunk by Dossou-Yovo gave CFBB a 33-17 lead after 10 minutes. CFBB kept excelling on defense early in the second quarter and a three-pointer by Fevrier broke the game open, 42-22. Ayayi followed free throws with a layup and Dossou-Yovo soon gave his team a 48-25 margin. Aleksa Ilic and an unstoppable Uskokovic brought Zvezda a bit closer, 52-33, at halftime. Vuk Djordjevic and Uskokovic tried to ignite Zvezda's comeback with back-to-back triples soon after the break and a dunk by Dusan Bubanja gave his team hope at 53-41. Blanc and Dossou-Yovo stepped up for CFBB, extending its margin to 65-46. Uskokovic remained unstoppable but a buzzer-beating basket by Blanc fixed the score at 69-53 after 30 minutes. Zoran Paunovic struck from downtown and added a driving layup to give Zvezda hope at 71-60 with under 7 minutes left. Theo Maledon buried a three-pointer and Fevrier dunked it off a steal to seal the outcome, 77-62, as Zvezda never recovered.
