U18 Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius remained perfect at the Euroleague Basketball Adidas Next Generation Tournament Finals by holding on for a 66-70 victory over U18 Real Madrid. Deividas Sirvydis hit six three-pointers in scoring 23 points while Domantas Vilys and Azoulas Tubelis both tallied 12 points and Marek Blazevic collected 10 points and 10 rebounds. Lietuvos Rytas improved to 2-0 in Group A of the ANGT Finals. Madrid dropped to 1-1 as they failed to complete a fourth quarter comeback from 16 points down. Marko Nakic led the way with 24 points while Usman Garuba picked up 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks.

After scoring just two points in the first quarter of the opening game, Sirvydis knocked down two three-pointers early on as Lietuvos Rytas built up a 5-12 lead. Sirvydis added another long ball and Tubelis was also on target from long range as the lead grew to 9-19 - and was 13-19 after 10 minutes. Yet another Sirvydis triple helped the ANGT Kaunas champion push the gap to 15-28 as Madrid did not score a basket in the first 5 minutes of the second quarter. Melwin Pantzar drained a three-ball to trim the deficit to 23-31 but Lietuvos Rytas kept Madrid at arm’s length and Sirvydis hit a long three at the half-time buzzer for a 28-39 advantage at the break.

Lietuvos Rytas increased the lead out to 13 points again - 30-43 - early in the third quarter but Amar Sylla hit a three-pointer and Garuba converted a three-point play to pull within 39-45. And Garuba’s next basket made it 45-50 but the cushion was 47-56 after 30 minutes. Lietuvos Rytas scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter to build a 47-63 cushion with seven minutes to play. Madrid charged their way back into the game with Garuba scoring five points and Nakic completing a three-point play in cutting the gap to 66-68. Pantzar had a chance to put Madrid ahead but missed a three-pointer with 59 seconds left and then after Vilys hit a shot falling down, Carlos Unanue missed a three-pointer. Unanue was able to grab a steal but missed the layup to seal Madrid’s fate.
