U18 Stellazzurra Rome remained perfect at the Euroleague Basketball ADIDAS NEXT GENERATION TOURNAMENT Kaunas with an 83-93 win over U18 Khimki Moscow Region. Aristide Mouaha collected 22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for an index ranking of 32 to lead Stellazzurra to a 2-0 record in Group A. Russel Tchewa added 21 points and 7 rebounds and Luca Conti chipped in 17 points in the victory. Khimki dropped to 0-2 despite 26 points and 5 assists from Anton Alakin while Konstantin Shevchuk had 16 points and Vladislav Odinokov picked up 15 points and 5 rebounds.

Alakin scored three straight baskets to put Khimki ahead 6-3. The lead switched hands five times with Tchewa and Mouaha combining for 7 points in a 0-9 run to go up 11-19. Tchewa added 4 more points in an 0-11 spurt for a 13-30 cushion, which was 15-32 after 10 minutes. Alakin tallied 6 more points as Khimki tried to stay close, trailing 26-40. But Conti nailed a three-ball and Lorenzo Donadio scored 5 points in a 2-12 surge for a 28-52 cushion. And Stellazzurra was up 39-59 at intermission. Khimki tried to stay close but could not deal with Tchewa, who scored three baskets to extend the gap to 48-75 midway through the third quarter. The lead was as big as 30 points at 52-82, and it was 57-82 after 30 minutes. Khimki tried desperately to get back into the game and Arsenii Perov knocked down three three-pointers and Shevchuk hit two long balls of his own to cut the gap to 77-89 with just under 3 minutes to play. But Stellazzurra got defensive stops on three of the next four possessions to decide the game.
