Gran Canaria routs MZT to remain undefeated

Herbalife Gran Canaria Las Palmas blasted MZT Skopje Aerodrom 75-98 on Wednesday at Jane Sandanski to reach the midway point of the 7DAYS EuroCup Regular Season atop Group A with a 4-0 record. MZT remained in fifth place in the group after falling to 0-4. Kyle Kuric led the way with 19 points, Eulis Baez and Royce O'Neale added 15 points apiece, Sasu Salin scored 14 and Pablo Agular 11, while Bo McCalebb dished 7 assists. Josh Scott shined for MZT with 22 points and 12 rebounds, Xavier Thames added 15 points and Adem Mekikj and Stefan Sinovec netted 11 each. The key stat in the game was that the hosts committed 24 turnovers, which were 16 more than Gran Canaria.

The visitors led from tip to buzzer. After scoring the first 5 points, Gran Canaria led 17-24 after 10 minutes. Scott’s shined with a three-point play to close the gap to 25-26, but Kuric and Agular combined for 11 points in a 0-13 Gran Canaria run. The difference grew to 33-51 by halftime and the hosts never got closer than 10 the rest of the way.
