
KK Hemofarm Stada bettered BC Crvena Zvezda 81-75 after a close battle on Saturday evening in Belgrade, Serbia and will play for the 5th place in the Belgrade Nike International Junior Tournament. Hemofarm will take on Brose Basket while Zvezda will seek for its first win against Asvel Basket in hope to avoid the last place in the standings. Hemofarm enjoyed a good offensive effort in the third quarter to take a lead, after a close first half, and hang on to it until the buzzer. Petar Lambic shinned with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners, Luke Andusic finished with 15 points and 5 assists while Danilo Tasic added 14 points and 9 rebounds. Zvezda saw 21 points by Jovan Djordjevic, Marko Radonjic added 18 and Ivan Saicic contributed 16.
Djordjevic dominated from the start and scored 8 points as Zvezda took a 5-12 lead. Lambic showed his toughness and scored his first basket of the night, but Djordjevic was still on fire and reached 13 points in the first quarter as Zvezda took a 13-18 lead after 10 minutes. Radonjic combined 4 points in a row to set the difference on 11, but Lambic was on fire and with points and assists. The last of them resulted a three pointer by Luka Igrutinovic enough to tie the score at 28-28. Mitrovic scored from mid-range to put Hemofarm on top and a three pointer by Saicic with the half time buzzer set the score on 34-33. Djordjevic went scoreless in the second quarter, but started the second half with a three pointer, but Lambic and Mitrovic took over the game, and with a great 7-0 finish to the third period, grabbed a 59-50 lead after 30 minutes. Andusic and Tasic scored from tha arc, to push the gap to 65-51 with 8 minutes on the game clock. Zvezda fought back and with long distance shots by Saicic, and inside the last minute Radonjic added back-to-back three pointers as well to cut the margin to just 4, 79-75, but that was as close as Zvezda reached.
